I am wondering if there is a way where someone can use a technique to crack there own hip and leg joints to releive stress or to aleviate tightness and pain. I am new to this so I am just asking any ideas or possible solutions would be appreciated.
    thank you

    Hi Brenda

Have you heard of Yoga? From my experience, people who practice yoga seem have (overall) less joint issues, because they are self-mobilizing their own joints. Needless to say, form is very important to avoid injury.

That is very different from trying to adjust yourself. That can be very dangerous, mainly because untrained people can misalign themselves because they don’t understand the joint they are working on.

Yoga is certainly a good idea as Frank stated. I would also agree about the dangers of self manipulation. People often see a DC adjust and think all hey are doing is popping joints and I have often seen people who had their husband or friend do this only to cause severe instability to the areas they are working on over and over. If your problem is chronic is may be due to more than just tightness, or the problem may be located somewhere else and the pain referred. In either way, it is your spine and body that you are self treating and it is no safer then self medicating yourself. If money is an issue, find a DC that may work with your finances. Keep in mind that DCs are mcuh less expensive considering what they do verse the medical equivalent.
