Upper cervical spine manipulation demonstration. As performed in the current case, with the patient supine, the chiropractor places their proximal phalanx on the right articular pillar of the second cervical vertebra, preloads the patient’s neck by placing it in slight ipsilateral lateral flexion and contralateral rotation, and provides a thrust directed lateral to medial and posterior to anterior using the right hand, with the left hand acting to stabilize the head.
