The absolute rotation angle (ARA) is a radiographic measurement used to quantify the overall curvature of a spinal region on lateral radiographs. It is calculated by measuring the angle formed between posterior tangent lines drawn along the vertebral bodies at the superior and inferior limits of the spinal segment being evaluated, providing an estimate of the total sagittal curvature of that region.
