What to expect

Before we can help you, we need to evaluate your Health History, and perform a thorough Physical Examination of the region(s) of your complaint.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment, so that you can fill-out an Application for Treatment. These forms will tell us your “chief complaint”, how long you may have experienced it, and any incidents which might have caused, or contributed to it.   It is commonly acknowledged that about 90% of diagnosis comes from an accurate history.

Once Dr. Painter reviews your history with you, we will then recommend a full examination.   Exams involve light touch, called palpation, and orthopedic tests, which will assess the muscles, ligaments, nerve tissues, and the circulatory and lymphatic tissues in the region of your complaint.

Once we have determined the nature of your problem, we will design a Care Plan to resolve your health issue. This may involve spinal adjusting (also known as “spinal manipulation”), joint mobilization, a variety of soft tissue techniques, life-style or diet management recommendations, acupuncture, and/or other holistic approaches.

Chiropractors do not use drugs or surgery by choice, because our natural methods have been proven to be as (or more) effective than medical approaches, and without the risk of side-effects associated with drugs and surgery.

I like to remind my patients that if you have a rock in your shoe, and your foot hurts, then it would be pointless for you to take aspirin! (or to give you muscle relaxants, massage, physical therapy, acupuncture etc.)   In fact, pain is not your problem!   The problem is that you have a stone in your shoe!

Our Chiropractic Analysis helps us to locate that “stone”, so that we can remove this obstacle to your full expression of health.   When the “pebble” has been removed, the pain will stop, and normal function invariable returns.   It's just that simple!

Do I need to bring anything with me on my first visit?

Bring a copy of your Health Insurance Card if you have one.   We will accept “assignment of your benefits” after we have verified your coverage with your insurance company.   This may take 1-2 working days.

During that period, all your payments will be applied towards your deductible.   Please be sure to read the section on “Assignment of Benefits”.

If you have been involved in an automobile accident, please bring a copy of the accident report, and a copy of your own auto insurance card.   We will contact your Claims Adjuster to help you file your claim.

If you were hurt at work, you need to have already filed a report with your employer.
We will speak with them to help you file a claim with their Workers Compensation Carrier.
